We love all five of these trends and have been seeing many of these in the kitchens we design and install.1. White & WoodIt's no surprise we love IKEA's NUMERÄR butcherblock-style countertop, especially with white cabinetry like Francis chose for her kitchen renovation.
2. Subway Tile
True, subway tile has been popular for a while, but we still love the clean, polished look it gives to a kitchen. Our clients Nancy & Doug chose a dramatic black subway tile for their kitchen and we think the result is stunning.
3. Marble Countertops
Though infamously fussy, we can't deny that a pale marble countertop is a stunning finish to any kitchen. We especially love marble with white cabinetry.
4. Two Tone Cabinetry
Two tone cabinets are a great way to introduce contrast to your kitchen. Our favourite application of this trend is going darker on the lowers, lighter on the uppers just like in this kitchen featured on Apartment Therapy.
5. Open Shelving
Open shelving is an amazing way to keep storage without committing to upper cabinets. It's a perfect place to keep frequently used items like glassware and bowls, or display your favourite serving pieces and heirlooms.
